NCORPE Cancels Public Open House on Potential Wind Project Due to Lack of Interest by Developers

In June 2017 Nebraska Cooperative Republican Platte Enhancement Project (NCORPE) announced a request for proposals from prospective wind and/or solar developers for the development of a renewable energy project on NCORPE properties in Lincoln County, Nebraska. NCORPE has approximately 20,000 acres of land that is currently being used for water management in Lincoln County, Nebraska. The meeting, scheduled for July 26th has been cancelled. Kyle Shepherd, NCORPE Manager noted “we didn’t receive any proposals from developers for the project. We are not sure why there wasn’t more interest, but we are looking into it.” For now, the project will be on hold until further notice. The NCORPE Board of Directors meeting was also postponed until August 19th. Details regarding location and time will be announced at a later date.
